Thank you for the help however,those are companies loaning money that take credit reports just as a bank and the commercial I saw was for “Yahoo Users”‘ loaning money to each other because of the difficulties of going through a bank. I have the checking account and my other half has the job NOBODY that takes an application for a bank or loan Co.Will approve it..This is why I wanted to find this group of Yahoo Users I heard about..Thank you so very much .Right Now we are about to get evicted and I am very sick and we don’t have relatives to help us.And all local organizations are out of funds until next Month…

On last Friday I deposited a $1,500 check from a commercial business which is a very solid and respectable business which works closely with a Berkshire Hathaway company. I didn’t realize I had so little funds availalabe. I just forgot. I made 3 transactions totaling $36 beyond available funds over the weekend. Also a charge for $62 came through yesterday which I thought had posted already. Now I’m minus $98 but they paid them because of the pending large deposit. Now I have $165. in fees. I’m going to go in and talk to at least an assistant manager. It really makes me angry, I trust them with my money and they take what they want, when they want. What recourse do I have if any? Over the phone, the person I talked to treated me coldly, condescendingly. I told him I was wondering why I need to use a bank at all, he typed something negative and would not say what. I didn’t threaten I just expressed my dismay at big bank. Your thoughts? I haven’t done this in over 35 years, I’m retired and on limited income. No one can afford this; but for me it is very painful. Also I think it should be illegal for banks to allow transactions when funds are not available. The machine should say no funds available. I think banks set people up that way. And lastly wouldn’t it be interesting to know what percentage of gross revenue is “earned” from overdraft fees and the like?
The check cleared over night.
Last month I had several huge and unexpected expenses which wiped out my “cushion money” which backs up checking as overdraft.
They can’t do anything they want if I don’t use their services. I opened this account to get air miles for NWA. I’m going to let my monies wash through to get those miles and put them in another, more user friendly bank to actually disburse. And I’m going on strict cash only for any personal expenses. I’ve done it before and I can do it again. I’ll finish my course this way! I figure I’ve got maybe 10 years left, I live frugally anyway.
A lot of things are legal that are unethical or immoral.I think this falls in the immoral catagory.Making that much money off a client for a couple days loan is wrong whether they can do it legally or not. What really bothers me is the coldness and disdain shown. Everyone makes mistakes.Even banks. When the bank made a mistake many years ago, they did not give me fees for screwing up my account many hundreds of dollars. But I did get them to call the people and appologize. Thanks to Scooter for giving a kind word which is really what I wanted and needed. That and an ear.
